When moving clients locally most regular paintings and mirrors are wrapped in moving blankets for cushioning and protection. This method has proven to be sufficient for short-distance, inner city moves and allows for significant savings in time and materials. High-value artwork is wrapped in bubble wrap, with the front surfaces covered in packing paper – especially for delicate or oil paintings. These are then placed in specialty picture boxes with additional crushed packing paper at the top and bottom for extra cushioning. This method is also used for long-distance moves, as it provides superior protection and allows for more efficient truck loading.

Each plate and bowl is wrapped in paper, and the stacks of prepared dishes (typically 4 – 5 plates per stack) are placed in a cardboard box vertically to reduce pressure on lower items. Cups and glasses are pre-filled with crumpled packing paper to prevent crushing and then wrapped individually, leaving air pockets between the layers of paper for additional cushioning. Similarly, paper is used to protect pots, pans, cutlery and small appliances, as well as to fill any empty spaces in the boxes to prevent shifting and damage. Bubble wrap is primarily used for stemware, delicate kitchenware and crystal items.

The ideal scenario is to transport electronics in their original packaging whenever possible, as the Styrofoam inside is specifically designed to provide optimal protection. However, if the original boxes are not available, devices are wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in appropriately sized cardboard boxes, with gaps inside filled using foam peanuts, crushed paper or bubble wrap to prevent movement. TVs are always moved in custom TV boxes with foam corner protectors and are tested before packing and upon delivery to ensure your satisfaction.

When necessary, furniture is carefully disassembled before packing to ensure both safety and maneuverability. Upholstered furniture is covered with plastic stretch wrap or specialized covers, such as sofa and chair covers, to protect against dirt and moisture. Depending on access and item size, fabric furniture may be additionally wrapped in moving blankets to prevent rips and snags when moving through doorways and staircases. Non-upholstered items made of wood, leather, marble etc. are always wrapped completely in heavy-duty moving blankets, which are tightly secured with tape to provide excellent protection from any kind of impact.

While no moving company can take full responsibility for transporting plants, our primary goal is to protect them from temperature fluctuations and physical damage as much as possible. Smaller plants are placed upright in open-top cardboard boxes or plastic containers, either individually or in small groups, depending on their size and shape. Empty spaces inside the containers are filled with crumpled paper to add stability and prevent shifting. Small holes are made in the boxes for air circulation during the summer, while in winter, the tops of the boxes can be covered with packing paper to provide insulation. Larger plants are either placed in large boxes to protect their planters and add stability or are moved as is. Stems may occasionally be wrapped in foam wrap or corrugated cardboard for protection, depending on the flexibility of the branches and leaves. During cold seasons, plants are always loaded last onto the truck and unloaded first to minimize exposure to harsh weather conditions.
